Upon A Burning Body - "Straight From the Barrio"

Feeling heated? 😡 You can hit the gym or just jam out to Upon A Burning Body's latest release, "Straight From The Barrio"!😌
This album is absolutely sure to speak to your darker side; Upon a Burning Body's newest album -- both musically and lyrically -- perfectly encompasses the fiery aggression that comes with pain. These heavy tracks reclaim hurt as a source of strength, which is evident in the intensity throughout.
Intricate instrumentals and dynamic vocals drive the force of each song, while the lyrics are straightforward and leave little room for misinterpretation. "Already Broken" has a more vulnerable theme of being too broken for further damage, but even still, its power doesn't falter. "Don't Trust Anyone" and "The Outcast" are similar in this manner -- all of these songs demonstrating how pain can be channeled into strength.
Songs like "Media Blackout," "B.M.F.," and "Straight From the Barrio (210)" are just outwardly fierce, and seem far less driven by hurt, and more driven by raw aggression.
This back-and-forth from being on the emotional defense and offense showcase the natural course of human pain; we start with coping with the hurt, then we try to build up an immunity and our defenses, but afterwards, at the end of the day, we know the root of our defenses is our own pain.
Overall, I would give this album a 7 out of 10 for it's relatable content. Haven't listened to it yet? What're you waiting for! Check out "Straight From the Barrio" NOW and let us know what YOU think!
