Of Mice & Men - Cold War

ALBUM REVIEW

Of Mice & Men - "Cold World"
Written by: Lexie

For many fans, this has been a long time coming, and now they can finally indulge in the release of Of Mice And Men's latest album, "Cold World"!

This album will take you on an emotional rollercoaster as you transition from one track to the next. To begin, the album opens up with "Game of War," a song with a haunting tone and vocals reminiscent to those of Maynard James Keenan of Tool. While the first song of an album usually sets the overall mood, in this case it only represents a portion of the album's theme.

Songs like "Pain" express the struggle that frontman Austin Carlile faces every day with Marfan Syndrome, which allows a more vulnerable side of the album to show. Other songs like "Relentless" and "Real" are uplifting, inspiring elements since they express Carlile's determination to embrace the life he was given and live life to its fullest, regardless of any obstacle. "Like a Ghost" again seems to incorporate influences from other artists into this album, with vocals that will remind listeners of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

There is sincerely something for everyone in this album, both lyrically and musically. I feel that audiences from a wide spectrum will be able to appreciate "Cold World," which explains my rating of a perfect 10 out of 10!

Don't waste another minute and check out this album out for yourself! Let us know what YOU think of it!
