Memphis May Fire - “Wanting More”
Written by: Miguel
Greed is something that can have a huge negative impact on your life and it is also mentally damaging because you keep wanting more despite having everything you need. Memphis May Fire released a new song, “Wanting More”, to elaborate on this theme and they did so wonderfully.
Filled with intense screams and cleans from vocalist Matty Mullins, “Wanting More” also delivers slick guitar riffs and upbeat drums, and they even threw in some piano in the few softer parts of the song. The overall sound is different than what we expect from Memphis May Fire, but it is still great and enjoyable in its own way. It also creates a solid foundation of what we can expect in full release of the upcoming album.
Lyrically, as mentioned before, the song talks about greed. Even though you want more, there’s that part of you that knows that that is not who you truly are, but the pleasure from it consumes you. A lot of people may have been at this point of their lives whether it's greed for money or just anything in general that you want more of. Some of you may be able to relate to the song but if it doesn't speak out to you lyrically, it is still a well produced song that you can all rock out to.
“Wanting More” gets an 8.5 out of 10. Memphis May Fire’s upcoming album, “This Light I Hold”, will be released on October 28th so there's still some time left to preorder it! Let us know what you think about the song
