Society can be a hard place, especially when you don’t fit in due to having a mental illness but have you ever wondered what’s it like to be in a situation like that? The fashion-art rock band, Palaye Royale, answers that question in a wonderful musical composition that will catch all your attention as soon as you hit that play button. You are instantly greeted with an awesome guitar riff all thanks to Sebastian Danzig and then you are welcomed by Remington Leith distinctive vocal style. Emerson Barrett, also did an excellent job keeping the song up-to-beat with his drum skills!

In the video Remington Leith walks into a circus with a little boy, which may have possible been his younger self, where they were surrounded by people. He was constantly stared at and he was also treated unfairly when he wanted a drink. The band also enthusiastically performed the song during the video and it fitted the overall concept perfectly. Remington reiterates “found a way to cope needle in his throat” suggesting that the only way to help the mentally ill is to inject medicine into them in order to calm them and make them unaware of everything. He also says that “Stuck in the boom boom room, People are dancing after their operation… But nobody is moving after their medication I can’t hear the room”. The “boom boom room” is basically a padded cell and after someone gets an “operation” the person always “dances” – meaning they always make noises in the room or throw a tantrum. However, whenever they get the medication, not a sound will be heard in the room and the person will be calm and quiet. We all hear stories about what happens in mental hospitals and the lyrics of this song adds to all of those stories.

"Mr. Doctor Man” did not fall short on anything and earns a perfect 10 out of 10 and we are excited to see what else they have in store for us on their upcoming album, “Boom Boom Room.” Palaye Royale will also be playing Warped Tour all summer long so go check them out and give them your support!
